A meeting without a clear ending was not really finished

When a meeting just runs out of time, the group disperses with a fuzzy sense of what happened. Nobody is sure who owns what, so nothing moves until someone chases it later.

Name owners and dates out loud

“To close: [name] owns X, [name] owns Y, and we reconvene on [date].” Saying names and dates in the room, not just in the notes, makes ownership feel real rather than optional.

Promise the follow-up, then send it fast

“That is everything for today. I will send a summary in the next hour.” A same-day summary while the meeting is still fresh gets read; a next-week summary usually does not.
